August 10th 2010 at Amari Atrium Hotel Bangkok; The Energy Research and Development Institute, Chiang Mai University and Faculty of Engineering, Thammasart University organized a seminar called “Life Cycle inventory Development of Hard Disk Drive and Electronic Equipments in Thailand”
This projects have been supported and sponsored by Electric and Electronics Institute of Thailand.
Dr. Sate Sampattagul, the project leader had shown the important of the HDD and EE industries to prepare and push themselves to be more ecology. As there are such huge driving forces from EU who are really focusing on the environmental conscious product for their green market.
Therefore, LCI development is very necessary for our country in this initial stage to be prepare and be ready for non-tariff barrier policies or directives such as WEEE, RoHS, CFP, Water Footprint and Conflict of Minerals.
In the seminar, there were key-note speakers such as Dr. Akajate Apikajornsin, Dr. Prin Boonkanit, Dr. Natanee Vorayos, Dr. Hanphol Phuengrasmee, Mr. Chareuk Hengrasmee (Director of EEI), Dr. Kattiya Kraikan and Mr. Pricha Leelanukrom (MD of Western Digital).
